The Brother HL-L2340DW is a good option for a micro office. It has speedy printing speeds and costs less than $140. Having an Ethernet connector doesn’t allow for network sharing, but if you’re looking for a wireless printer, this is worth considering.
HL-L2340DW includes many of the same features as the Samsung Xpress M2825DW, which our Editors’ Choice in this price range. While this will be enough for a person’s personal or a micro-office use, if you want more capacity (as in larger paper handling capabilities), then you might want to avoid the printer.

Best Deals For Brother HL-L2340DW Laser Printer On Amazon ( Black Friday & Cyber Monday Sales)
Brother’s HL-L2340DW is an excellent laser printer for a personal or micro office, due to its size and low weight. It also earns points for being space-saving: at only 7.2 by 14 by 14.2 inches (HWD), it can fit on your own desk without taking up much of the room This means it is lighter and smaller than both Samsung M2825DW and the next-generation replacement in Samsung’s line – the Samsung Xpress M2835DW.
The HL-L2340DW supports mobile printing if you connect it to a network. This means users can print documents from an iOS or Android tablet through their smartphone and printer, as long as they access the right Wi-Fi networks. If you use the printer wirelessly by hooking it up to a device that’s turned on, you won’t be able to print through the cloud. However, Wi-Fi Direct will still let you connect to the printer from your mobile device – a feature that can be useful even for an individual printer.
Setup, Speed, and Output Quality
My tests consisted of plugging in the HL-L2340DW to a Windows Vista system. Setup was standard for any laser printer connected over USB.
Brother rates the printer engine at 27 pages per minute (ppm), which is a respectable speed for the purchase price and rating. The Samsung M2835DW performed very similarly to the Samsung M2825DW, coming in at 9.7ppm on average.
Though it is an okay printer with good quality, the HL-L2340DW left room for improvement.
Graphics quality is lower compared to the high level that most of your competition offers. It’s perfect for internal business use, but it won’t be sufficient for PowerPoint slides or any other duties. Picture quality is typical for a monochrome laser printer, but that’s not saying much. The output is sufficient to print recognizable images from webpages, although it can’t handle more rigorous tasks than this.
If you want faster printing or Ethernet support, consider the Samsung M2825DW and the Samsung M2835DW. The Brother HL-L2340DW still has a lot to offer with mobile printing support, ample paper handling, comparable speed to these models, and an affordable price point. If you don’t desire a wire connection with a network and you care more about the cost of it than your output quality, this printer may be perfect for your purposes.
