AirPods, the high-end true wireless earphones from Apple that has been available for some time now, have seen impressive success. We review a product to challenge its position at the top.
The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2.0 earphones may be the successor of the last year s Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless are priced at Rs. 24,990 in India and offer increased features in a smaller size, along with improved battery life and sound quality we review the new Sennheiser momentum 2.0 true wireless earphones
Compared to the first Momentum True Wireless model, these are smaller and might not fit in small ear canals.
The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 is smaller, but better
The design of the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 is quite similar to its predecessor, yet noticeably smaller. Although not bulky, they stick out from my ears a significant distance, but that didn’t seem to be an issue for others with whom I shared it. The fit has been improved in the new Momentum 2.0, which makes a difference with regards to passive noise isolation.
The earphones are well-built, and sensitive proximity sensors cause them to pause automatically when they’re removed from the ears. Disabling this requirement can be done through software on the application.
The Sennheiser logo on the outer side of each earbud is touch sensitive for gesture controls. These controls were easy enough to get accustomed to, with the left side controlling playback and the right side controlling noise cancelation, transparent hearing, and voice assistant functions by default. gestures on either side are completely customizable using the Sennheiser App, which lets you set your headset up however you like. You can also change volume from the headsets themselves if needed–which is useful especially when trying to avoid using your phone
The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 has one of the nicest cases for charging true wireless earphones we ve come across. The case is neither too large nor too small, and it features a fabric-wrapped exterior that looks great and feels nice to hold. The trunk has a USB Type-C port for charging, and a button that lights up to indicate the battery level. The encasing includes a magnetic lid to keep your earphones close at hand as well.
Like most other premium Bluetooth earphones, the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 has its software for customization. We love that you are able to use both Android and iOS apps (the Sennheiser Smart Control iphone app) to customize your listening experience by controlling things like hearing modes on this pair of headphones. At first glance, the app has much functionality that I soon found to be unimportant and rarely used. After setting up gesture controls, checking battery levels, and changing equaliser settings, there was little need for me to go beyond what I set up initially.
The in-case charger looks and feels good.
The Sennheiser Momentum 2 earphones are made for the most demanding users, with custom 7mm dynamic drivers, an individual microphone in each earphone and a frequency response of 5-21kHz available. The earphones use Bluetooth for connectivity, with support for the SBC, AAC and Qualcomm aptX codecs. The usage of the aptX codec ensures that these earphones are perfect for use on Android phones.
Battery life is a dramatic improvement on the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 in comparison with its predecessor. With active noise cancellation on, I could get six hours of usage per charge. The charging case added another three full charges for around 23-24 hours of use before needing to be charged again. This headset doesn’t have the best battery life, but it has more than what you get with the similarly priced AirPods Pro.

Better sound, effective noise cancellation on the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2
The original Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless may have been an underwhelming overall package for its price, but I still had good things to say about its sound quality. The new Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 manages to raise this bar even further. Although these headphones can be tuned for punchier bass, the combo of good drivers and aptX support make this the best sounding pair of true wireless earphones I have yet tried.
Active noise cancellation is especially good for listening to music or podcasts, as it quiets those outside noises. The first song I listened to with the headphones is Rhinestone Eyes by Gorillaz. One of my favorite things about these headphones is how clear they sound-I can hear a lot of detail in the music and there was space between different sounds so it felt open.
When listening to electronic tracks, I noticed that Sennheiser tweaked the Momentum True Wireless 2’s sonic signature slightly. Disco Ballin by Discotron showcased powerful bass and punchy drums. Despite this, there was still detail to be heard in the sound from both depth to low range.
The aptX codec means the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 delivers better-quality sound than most other true wireless earphones. Listening to my favourite high-resolution audio track, Touched By Tango (Anxiety) by Astor Piazzola, I was impressed with how detailed the sound quality is and how present the
Active noise cancellation on the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 work well
From the grunt and timbre of the double bass to the gentle aggression of the violins, everything sounded impressive on the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2. The sound is related to what could be expected from a respectable pair of wireless neckband-style earphones including Sony WI-1000XM2, which is fairly impressive given how real
The LDAC Bluetooth codec is known as superior, and the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 earphones work brilliantly for some genres and tracks for this reason.
Hearing Sennheiser Momentum 2.0, there’s somewhat of everything to be heard in the sound; the low-end is strong and the detail and soundstage are clear. The entire listening experience was engaging, immersive, and immensely enjoyable. The Sennheiser earphones offer impressive sound reproduction that accurately captures the old-meets-new track.
Active noise cancellation is only available on a few true wireless earphones thus far, and its performance is not always top-tier. However, the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 earphones have an active noise cancelling feature that silenced the droning sound of my air conditioning and ceiling fan.
Although the noise cancelation capabilities of Bose’s Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 are not as good as your flagship over-ear headphones, such as the AirPods Pro, it still matches that of these. I had a somewhat tense reaction to the transparency mode at first, but it sounds as natural as that of the AirPod Pros, which is unsurprising considering how effective and useful this feature is.
The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 is a music-focused headset that also does well as a hands-free device. Sound is clear on calls, even in the transparency mode that enables me to hear my voice over a call.
In my opinion, the microphone was more than robust enough for calls over a cellular network. However, I did find that people would have to ask me to speak up if they couldn’t hear me too well on occasion.
the Sennheiser outperforms the AirPods Pro in sound quality for music, but the Apple earphones outperform it in voice call quality.
I wasn’t too impressed with the headset’s design and sound, so I didn’t think it was worth the purchase price. Accommodating design, improved battery life and effective noise cancellation are all notable improvements with this wireless headset from Sennheiser.
The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 headphones are the best wireless earphones you can get, and it’s especially worth checking them out if you have an Android phone with aptX Bluetooth. Sure, it’s pricey at Rs. 24,990, but the type of quality you receive here justifies the price.
