The Panasonic ZS100 marks an exceedingly new direction for the long-running Lumix ZS series. This model is based around a comparatively large 1″ image sensor, which is one of the largest on the market! The Panasonic Lumix ZS100’s limited size is reminiscent of the company’s previous cameras, such as its FZ1000 and CM1 models. Great cameras with 1-inch sensors can also be found in more enthusiast oriented models from brands such as Canon, Nikon and Sony.

Unlike the Panasonic FZ1000 and CM1, which have a sensor resolution of 20.1 megapixels, the Panasonic ZS100 has a complimenting sensor with lower quality at 18.9 megapixels. It also utilizes a lens system that starts wider with an aperture of f/2.8-4 but goes to f/5

The Panasonic ZS100 is noticeably smaller when you put it next to Sony’s pocket-friendly RX100 IV Similarly impressive, and amazingly light to carry when shooting, the Lumix ZS100 promises a hefty zoom range despite some minor size concerns.

We should remember that while it s not the most compact camera out of all options in this series, the Panasonic ZS100 is not pants-pocket friendly. The only downside is to carry it around with you wherever you go, you ll have to be carrying a bag.

For more capable photographers, the Panasonic ZS100 offers a lot of physical controls for common shooting variables — including shutter speed, aperture, ISO sensitivity, focus, and lens zoom. The ZS100 has some nice enthusiast-oriented features, including RAW or RAW+JPG support and exposure bracketing for up to seven images.

When it comes to the ZS100, you’re getting a lot of performance for your money. Owners can shoot at five frames per second, and that is with autofocus enabled between exposures. Locking focus on frame one and disabling live view throughout your burst allows this to be pushed to 10 fps. And pushing the limits on this camera can go as high as 50 fps, for capturing 5-megapixel JPEGs.

Panasonic ZS100 lens includes a 12-element, 10-group design with five aspheric elements. Four are double-sided and the fifth is made of four aspherical lenses. Panasonic’s Lumix ZS100 offers a 25-250mm zoom that covers your needs for wide angle or telephoto photography, good for capturing family, travel images and nature. The camera’s broadest aperture is f/2.8 at wide angle, narrowing to f/5.9 in the telephoto position.

The ZS100 offers five-axis hybrid O.I.S., a helpful level shot function, and blur from camera shake to help you capture clear photos with every shooting session. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS100’s Light Speed Autofocus system will keep the focus time to as little as tenth of another. The 49 autofocus points and face tracking functions has been known to be incredibly fast in just 10 milliseconds, proving that it can track faces not just with its eyes but also accurately recognize when they re

The Panasonic Lumix ZS100 is ideal for enthusiasts, and sports a 0.2″1066k-dot equivalent electronic viewfinder as well as an HDMI port for immediate output to a larger monitor The camera’s sensor parts proximity lens to automatically allow autofocus when the finder is raised to your eye. If you own this Panasonic ZS100 camera, you will need to post your photos online. This can be done quickly and easily if your phone or tablet has Wi-Fi, by using QR code pairing in the Lumix app.

The ZS100 offers ultra-high definition video (4K) and 24 or 30fps. 4k and full HD are not the only options. If you would rather use 60fps framerate there is an option with 1900×1100 pixels

The Panasonic ZS100 includes the 4K Photo mode, which extracts 16-megapixel stills from 4K video. If rolling shutter isn’t a concern for your subjects, this is often advantageous since it can take your reflexes out of the equation almost completely. On top of Panasonics convenient Post-Focus function, the ZS100 also offers a variety of shooting modes to help you capture vivid images and videos for family devotional time.

The Panasonic ZS100 is only available in the Americas market and can be purchased for around $700.

The Panasonic Lumix ZS100 is a 10x zoom camera with the first 1-inch image sensor in its series. The inclusion of a larger sensor pitted it up against its competitors, such as Sony’s popular RX100 series. At an affordable list price of $700 USD, Panasonic ZS100 offers a versatile lens and better performance than most of its industry counterparts.

One of my favorite features of Panasonic ZS100 was its striking silver and red design. It is refreshing to see something different from the overused black cameras on the market, yet you can opt for a more traditional all-black model if that suits your needs better. Because the camera is smooth to the touch, it is difficult to firmly grip.

The Panasonic ZS100 has a 1-inch sensor and provides 10x zoom in a small camera. We’ve spent time comparing it to other models that we think will be helpful for you: the Canon G7X Mark II, Olympus Stylus 1, and others.

These are some of our favorite images with the Panasonic Lumix ZS100.

No two screens will ever give you an identical representation of a photo, and this is doubly true for prints. How far can I print my photos at higher ISOs?

The Panasonic ZS100 print quality still leaves much to be desired, even when compared with other models in the same sensor class. It would appear that in order to achieve a 10x lens in such a tiny package, some optical performance was sacrificed. But with all having said that, provided you keep the gain setting at ISO 1600 and below, you’ll be assured of good 8 x 10 inch prints over the board. As with most compact cameras that may offer a lot of zoom range, compromises are inevitable, so it’s up to you to decide if zoom range is more important compared to the capability to print larger prints.
