Design

The Netgear Nighthawk R7000 was one of the best designed wireless routers at its time, eclipsing its competitor RT-AC68U with a sleek design in strong likeness to Lockheed F-117 stealth plane, from where it is named after the complete series. The R7000P looks identical to the R7000, so you can expect the same angular plastic case–in a dark grey matte finish–with its lateral parts slightly inclined towards the bottom, exposing two sets of ventilation grills. The router is large, especially when compared to today s architectures, and the fins–which can be removed and upgraded–allow for wireless signal that moves from direction to direction.

I believe it was a wise decision to keep the same case design, because this makes your switchover process seamless. Instead of choosing a new product with similar features but a complete redesign, you get to preserve what you already have and make minor updates in materials without abandoning everything.
However, even the simplest way around the dilemma can produce just as much A noticeable deficiency worth noting is that the R7000P features a dull, understated design. This may not be an issue for some but will likely deter potential buyers looking for a sleek aesthetic to match their rest of their tech devices.

Unlike some small, minimalist designed WiFi system units, Netgear’s Nighthawk R7000P offers better heat management and ventilation to ensure it. The unit also has intake and exhaust vents on the top and bottom for ample heat dispersal. The case gets a little warm near the label and on the top surface, but it never heats up. This router has two mounting holes from underneath for precise placement, and is also easily mounted to a wall so as not to crowd your desk space. In addition, the R7000P weighs 1.65 lbs (slightly heavier than the WRT3200ACM) and by pairing it with four silicone feet, we get a stable router that won’t move around regardless of how many cables are connected to it

The router’s LED indicator lights make it easy to identify the device’s status.

Next to the last ethernet port, there are two buttons that feature LED lights underneath them. One button turns WiFi on or off, and the other initiates a WPS pairing. On the back side of the router, Netgear has positioned a tiny recessed Reset button and then to it, there are four LAN Ethernet ports.

For ports, it has four: a WAN port for fast Internet connection (gigabit), a USB 2.0 typically used to connect printers, the Power button and a proprietary power port. One of the features is that it still has USB 3.0 on this router, so you can connect NAS storage or USB drives very fast just like

Hardware

For those interested in the Netgear Nighthawk R7000P, here are some of the highlights. The R7000P is built on a Broadcom platform and uses 256 MB of RAM from Samsung. It also utilizes 128 MB of flash memory from Spansion and an additional BCM4708C0 as a switch chip with 1GHz

So like the R7000, the router’s 5GHz radio is supplied by Broadcom BCM4360. Though there is one key difference–R7000P includes a better BCM4365E KMMLG 3 3 SoC to manage its wireless chip, a hardware that supports MU-MIMO (multi-user MIM The router has two 2.4GHz wireless bands, one of which supports a maximum data transfer rate of 600 Mbps and the other just 1,625 Mbps for the perfect wireleess performance.

The Nighthawk R7000P is advertised as an AC2300 class router so that it includes a maximum theoretical data transfer rate of 600

Features and Performance

The Nighthawk R7000 router was perfectly equipped for the time, but because of its age it needed a step of progress in order to keep up with other technologies. The company adapted one its most popular Wave 2 features, MU-MIMO (160MHz support and then Netgear’s R7800). Wireless AC performs much better than the older wireless standards, especially when handling a lot of data from more clients wirelessly. The R7000P is equipped with the latest BeamForming+ technology that directs and consolidates the signal towards your client, allowing for a stable network and reducing interference.

I also pointed out the smart connect feature that automatically assigns connected devices to the best wireless band. This is not a new function, but Netgear has done a great job with this for the R7000P. Other features worth mentioning include Armor (powered by BitDefender) as an Antivirus and protection against phishing as well as malware. The Circle with Disney also provides increased Parental Controls. Netgearā€™s Armor and Circle with Disney are both services, but they differ in their pricing structure. I’m not just a supporter of monthly or yearly subscriptions, but they do offer some measure of convenience for the users that don’t want the trouble of getting to grips with advanced hardware or customized software.

Note: While the Netgear Nighthawk R7000P does not have mesh technology, you can browse the Netgear Orbi. It is undoubtedly one of the most effective WiFi systems available. To test the performance of wireless with the R7000P, I took two separate computers; one is a desktop machine that has the PCE-AC88 WiFi adapter (will be my client and will take advantage of all that the router can offer)
the other is a powerful laptop connected to the R7000P by Ethernet.
