Display

The Miix 510 s screen has excellent color and picture. Watching a trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, I pointed out that the green of Gamora s skin popped, the red death button glowed vibrantly and a beast’s yellow guts were well-illuminated. The 1920×1200 resolution can make Baby Groot’s brown irises, Rocket Raccoon’s torn armor and Drax’s intricate tattoos easily visible.

Keyboard, Touchpad

The Miix 510 attachable keyboard is functional, I clicked my way to 74 words each and every minute on the 10fastfingers test which is below my 80-wpm average. When I typed in my own lap, however ,I couldn’t help but notice the flex in the keyboard that was really bothersome. I have a mediocre experience as a result of the keys as they are shallow 1.34 millimeters and light 55 grams of actuation force.

Lenovo also opts to provide full-size directional keys rather than a full-sized right shift key, which led me to click on the up arrow whenever I needed to click that Shift key.
This has been an issue with every time I wanted to create contact information, use a hashtag or insert an asterisk.

The touchpad size fit my style of use and offered a good feel to every click. Two-finger vertical scrolling registered smoothly, as well as three-finger horizontal scrolling.

Audio

The Miix 510 is a bit underpowered and the sound quality could be better. Sound quality was only mediocre, with no configuration available for any improvements.

That bests the Intel 330 Series SATA3 SSD (150 MBps) and Samsung SM951 NVMe MZVPV512HD The 256GB SSD in the top Pro 4 (318.1 MBps) is a lot faster, and there’s more storage, but it also costs $200 more.

Battery Life

Lenovo’s Miix 510 has a short battery life, but it could still be a good option for an average-sized tablet. The battery life on the Miix 510 is a bit underwhelming, as it runs for 203 minutes. But while that falls short of devices like the Pro 4 (6:05) and HP Spectre x2 (6:31), it’s still considerably longer than the Switch Alpha 12s time of 4:49.

Webcam & Camera

The Miix 510 is more versatile than most computers are, and has a high-powered camera that captures the strong blue of the Manhattan sky along with its sharp architectural details.

As you can get motion sick from watching too much time, video recorded on the camera contains an excessive amount of stutter.

Heat

Similar to other detachables, the Miix 510 gets warm only in its tablet display. Directly after we streamed a quarter-hour of HD video on the detachable notebook, our heat gun registered acceptable temperatures on the touchpad and key area (75.5 degrees Fahrenheit). The thickness of the laptop’s screen measured 91.5 degrees–higher than our comfort threshold (95 degrees).

Software
