Bose QuietComfort 35: design

Bose QuietComfort 25s are not the most trendy headphones out there, but they get the job done. They come with oval-shaped ear cups and an easy design that make them reliable for anyone who wants to enjoy their audio wire-free.

The headphones can be purchased in black or silver, and both earcups bear the Bose logo.

The headband connecting both ear cups is well-padded, and the headphones sit comfortably on your head. This is partially due to their well-balanced weight but also because of how comfortable the cushions are around ears which, by extension, placed on a good cushioning layer as well. I personally wear these headphones all night, and find them to be comfortable.

As with the QC25s, the QC35 comes equipped with a power slider, micro USB charging port and pausing/skipping/raising/lowering buttons for your convenience.

the QC30 have one 2.5mm wired jack on its left earcup that allows you to plug in your device AND center attention on the proper

Pairing is a breeze with these headphones. Slide the energy slider completely to the right and then select them from your phone’s or laptop’s Bluetooth menu.

If you own an Android phone with NFC (Near Field Communication) capability, your headphones can be easily paired just by shaking the Bluetooth headset near the smartphone’s transmitter.

The headphones are able to switch between multiple connections. I had my couple of QC35s linked to both my notebook computer and my phone, and the headphones had no trouble switching between your two as I played music alternately from both devices.

Battery life on the QC35s is great. Bose promises that the headphones can last up to 20 hours of wireless use (40 when used as a wired headset). However, I can’t accurately tell you how long it takes for these headphones to die because I take them in and out of service intermittently.

It’s a nice feature, but the headphones are remarkably helpful in life-or-death situations as well.

These Bose QuietComfort 35 headphones do feature a microphone and can be used to talk on the phone without removing them. The noise-cancelling technology has also been applied to the mic for clear communication in all environments, including noisy ones.

Bose QuietComfort 35: performance

There are two types of Bluetooth streaming tech; standard and AptX. Standard is better for browsing the web but because Apple devices only support this type we ve written about the difference to AptX here for those with an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.

When I asked a spokesperson from Bose about the lack of the company’s support for high-fidelity audio tracks, they said that the business felt that standard Bluetooth was sufficient. That’s unfortunate because it would be nice to see these high-quality soundtracks properly supported.

The QC 35 wireless headphones don t feel like they re missing out on anything with their lack of AptX support. The sound from these is great and they do not have any of the flatness of other wireless headphones.

Wireless headphones have a soundstage that can be broad, so they pair well with high-quality recordings.

Switch to a song with more tempo like Uncombed Hair by Yung and you will notice that the QC35s have enough punch in their bass so it adds an adequate amount of rhythm to the music.

I was not completely convinced of the Active EQ feature, which improves the bass frequencies slightly as you lower the volume. Lower volumes also tend to favor higher frequencies.

In my own subjective tests this effect often made the tracks feel overly bassy at low frequencies.

However, the real standout performance of Bose s QuietComfort series or noise canceling in general may be found by the QC35s.

The Bose QuietComfort 35 headphones are good at cancelling out more mild sounds such as low frequencies, but may struggle with lighter “office chatter.”

The initial sensation of these noise-cancelling headphones is a little odd but soon becomes an excellent distraction to the world around you.

The microphone on the headphones works flawlessly, despite not being located closer to your mouth–a feature most wire-banded headphones share.

I wore them for a half hour video chat in a noisy office and could be heard throughout because of the noise-cancelling technology.
